Climate Change, Environment Degradation and Migrants as Actors of Adaptation
Climate change and environmental degradation are already triggering migration and displacement. In 2010 the UNFCCC Climate Conference adopted the Cancun Agreement that includes 14F paragraph on human mobility. The text calls upon “Measures to enhance understanding, coordination and cooperation with regard to climate change induced displacement, migration and planned relocation, where appropriate, at the national, regional and international levels”.
What does this mean in practice? What is being done and what can be done concretely? What resources are needed? How to reach out and best involve communities affected?
