COMEST
The 7th Ordinary Session of the World Commission for the Ethics of Scientific Knowledge and Technology (COMEST) will take place in Doha, Qatar, from 9 to 12 October 2011. The discussions to take place at the Session will focus primarily on matters pertaining to environmental ethics; ethical and emerging issues in nanotechnologies and converging technologies; and science ethics.
The Ordinary Session in Doha – the first time COMEST has met in the Arab region – will be an important opportunity to discuss ethical matters of science and technology in regional perspective; as well as, at the global level, to enlarge the framework of debate on science and technology; to strengthen networks of experts in ethics; and to establish a platform for future activities.
