The ocean, our common heritage, is rich in resources which need to be preserved.

Information meeting on the activities of the Organization to update the Permanent Delegates and Observers to UNESCO on the activities of the Organization in the context of "UNESCO and the Ocean".
The purpose of this information meeting, to be chaired by Ms Watson-Wright, Executive Secretary and Assistant Director-General for the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC of UNESCO), is to update the Permanent Delegations and Observers on the status of the Organization's actions in the context of the Ocean: IOC activities as well as those implemented in the context of the World Heritage Marine Programme, the Underwater Cultural Heritage convention and in collaboration with the Education Sector.
