The 60th Anniversary of the UNESCO Associated Schools (ASPnet)
The main purpose of this meeting is to present and discuss a new ASPnet Strategy for 2014-2021.
Created in 1953 with the participation of 33 schools amongst 15 Member States, the UNESCO Associated Schools today comprise more than 9700 educational institutions in 180 countries. The Network serves as a laboratory for innovative pedagogical approaches and aims to support teachers and students in their efforts to respond to the educational needs emerging from today’s and tomorrow’s challenges. Operating on four levels – school, national, regional and international – the ASPnet has benefitted from the support of National Commissions for UNESCO, Ministries of Education and UNESCO Field Offices throughout the last 60 years.
