50th anniversary of the Rivonia process, which led to Nelson Mandela’s imprisonment in his fight against apartheid

The event will comprise an exhibition as well as a video and discussion by 3 of the surviving 4 Rivonia Trialists.
The Rivonia Trial was one of the major mile stones in South Africa’s struggle for freedom. It’s outcome was a rallying point for the world to unite against the Apartheid System in South Africa. The international community stood side-by-side with the struggling masses of South Africa, until the democratic elections in 1994. South Africa had earlier withdrawn from UNESCO and was readmitted in 1994.
