The Intergovernmental Committee works under the authority of the Conference of Parties to promote the objectives and implementation of the Convention on the the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
The activities of the 6th Ordinary Session of the Intergovernmental Committee include: examination of quadrennial periodic reports of Parties to the Convention; approval of projects for funding under the International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD); monitoring the use of the resources of the IFCD and implementation of a fundraising strategy; Evaluation and audit of the pilot phase of the IFCD; review proposals on revisions to the guidelines on the use of resources of the IFCD; selecting an emblem for the Convention and consideration of draft operational guidelines on its use; review annual reports on the implementation of Article 21 of the Convention as well as progress made on the strategy of ratification.
