Working together with the programme sectors, Member States and public or private partners the Special Events Section organizes, each month, cultural events (shows, concerts, exhibitions, prize-giving ceremony, cinema screenings, etc.) at the UNESCO House.

Trois mille ans d’histoire de l’Iraq retracés à travers ses trois sites inscrits sur la Liste du patrimoine mondial ainsi que ses onze biens soumis à la Liste indicative. Tel est le périple proposé par cette exposition dédiée au patrimoine culturel et naturel de l’Iraq ancien. Quelle cité antique, située sur les rives du Tigre, fut la première capitale de l’Empire assyrien ? Quelle autre, capitale du premier royaume arabe, résista par deux fois aux Romains ? La vieille ville d’Assour (Qal’at Cherqat) et la grande cité fortifiée Hatra, pour débuter ce voyage…
