Another vision of Mediterranean living heritage: film projection and digital photo exhibition

© DR

A film projection and digital photo exhibition will be organized at UNESCO Headquarters to celebrate four years of cooperation within the context of the project MedLiHer – Mediterranean living heritage, co-financed by the European Union and UNESCO. The event will be followed by a reception.
UNESCO and the European Union launched the project MedLiHer - Mediterranean Living Heritage in 2009, in partnership with the Maison des Cultures du Monde in Paris and the National Commissions for UNESCO in Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon. For four years, MedLiHer has aimed to build capacities for key stakeholders for the implementation of the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in these countries. To meet this objective, UNESCO has developed national safeguarding projects, enhanced regional cooperation for the safeguarding of living heritage and collaborated with filmmakers and photographers of the three partner countries to develop an audiovisual regional project.
