Who are our Funding Partners?

Governments are UNESCO’s most important source of extrabudgetary financing. This often leads to partnerships that go beyond the cash value of the contributions.

Private Sector includes companies, NGOs, foundations and individuals. Its role is increasing.

The European Union is increasing its contribution. It provides funding for jointly identified projects implemented by UNESCO.

The Multilateral Development Banks and UNESCO have a long standing cooperation based on shared development objectives for their common Member States, as well as the added value of UNESCO's thematic areas in which the banks are investing.

The United Nations System still play a major role as partners in coordination, advocacy, analysis and policy advice, notably in post-conflict and post-disaster.

The Stand-By Partnerships are a key element of UNESCO’s sustained efforts to strengthen its response capacity in Post-Conflict and Post-Disaster (PCPD) situations.
