Part of the UNESCO - Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Partnership for Gender Equality includes the nomination of sport champions as “Promoters of Gender Equality.”

The tennis players, who are already considered to be role models for millions of girls and women, volunteer to serve as “Promoters of Gender Equality”. In this capacity, the players are involved both at global and national level in awareness raising activities, as well as directly participating in specific gender equality and women’s leadership programmes throughout the world.
