The aim of UNESCO’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme is to assist Member States in integrating “employability skills” in national education systems so that governments can lay the basis for a stronger society and a more resilient economy. This can be done in formal and non-formal settings. ICT has opened up new potential for learning by providing more widespread access to TVET resources. Yet in many parts of the world, the use of ICT in TVET is very limited.

UNESCO is scaling up its efforts to improve access to TVET not only by assisting Member States in development of national TVET strategies but also by development of online training and widely accessible training materials.

UNESCO’s International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (UNEVOC) fosters the development and use of ICT in TVET through its various activities.
