Fifty-two primary school teachers from fifty different primary schools in the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria have been given mobile phones with basic data plans to pilot the project.  Five master teachers oversee the fifty teachers.  These master teachers access the service as well and encourage the teachers under their supervision to apply the pedagogical strategies they learn in classrooms.

While only fifty teachers are in the pilot group, the English Teacher mobile service is available to anyone in Nigeria, and UNESCO, in cooperation with local partners, is actively encouraging its use among primary school teachers.
