Description of Policy Forum (20 Feb 2014)
Powerful technology and instant access to information is changing education in profound ways, particularly the role of teachers.
Policy makers around the world are thinking about how mobile devices—a once rare but now ubiquitous technology—can be leveraged to make teachers more impactful and learning more effective.
Building on the teacher theme of Mobile Learning Week 2014, UNESCO will be hosting a one day Senior Policy Makers’ Forum to explore how mobile technologies are transforming (and should transform) traditional teaching practices. This invitation-only event will also investigate how policy decisions can provide guidance to educators and the institutions that train them.
Senior government officials from over thirty countries, including a number of ministers of education, will be in attendance.
