End of EFA Crowdsourcing Challenge on May 31 – Grand prizes still available
Grand prizes are still available for each of the EFA Crowdsourcing sub-challenges. Submit your mobile communication ideas for any of the sub-challenges as well as vote or comment on other ideas by the 31st of May, 2012 to enter the grand prize competition.
The grand prize winner of each sub-challenge will receive a US$3,000 grand prize as well as a library of children’s books (a mixture of digital and print) worth US$3,000 that will be donated to a non-profit organisation of the winner’s choice. The best ideas in the Challenge will then be turned into concrete projects developed and implemented either by Nokia or by participants in the challenge. The EFA Crowdsourcing Challenge is a joint initiative from Nokia, UNESCO and the Pearson Foundation.
The winners of the grand prize from each sub-challenge will be selected by the panel of judges. Over 1,000 ideas have been submitted in the Challenge, which set out to find ways of using mobile communication to help achieve literacy, develop universal primary education, address youth and adult learning needs, improve the quality of education, achieve gender parity and equality in education, and improve early childhood care and education. Education experts, teachers, parents, students and software developers are all invited to participate by submitting mobile communication ideas for helping achieve EFA goals.
