Astronomy & World Heritage issues
UNESCOVENICE News (Venice) 15/09/2009 : The Round Table on "Astronomy & World Heritage Initiative" will be held on 28 September 2009 as part of an afternoon session of Astronomy & its Instruments. Before and After Galileo, a symposium jointly organized by the International Astronomical Union (INAF) and the Astronomical Observatory of Padua in the context of the International Year of Astronomy (IYA2009) under the patronage of UNESCO from 28 September through 3 October 2009 in Venice - Island of San Servolo (Italy).
The Round-table will present the implementation of different joint activities within the framework of the IAU-UNESCO Memorandum of Understanding (MoU on Astronomy and World Heritage that was signed by UNESCO the International Astronomical Union (IAU) on 30 October 2008. In October 2009, the World Heritage Revue will provide the complete presentation of the researches by the international experts on astronomical heritage within the framework of the thematic Initiative “Astronomy and World Heritage”.
