Intangible Cultural Heritage Experts' Seminar - Experience and Cooperation In SEE. Zagreb (Croatia) 22-27 April 2009

The 3rd edition South East European Experts Seminar on Intangible Cultural Heritage Intangible Cultural Heritage Experts' Seminar - Experience and Cooperation In SEE will be held in Zagreb from 22-27 April 2009  thank to the support of the UNESCO Office in Venice to the organisation of these annual seminars, the host country, Croatia, and to the Croatian Ministry of Culture.

This meeting, which follows previous seminars in Arbanassi, Bulgaria (2007) and in Safranbolu, Turkey (2008), represents an important further step in the safeguarding of the rich and diverse Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) of this region, as a powerful factor for reconciliation, dialogue, and mutual understanding among peoples. The network of experts on intangible heritage from South-Eastern European (SEE) has experienced in the course of its common works a considerable development.

The programme foresees :

- Presentations of the experts in the field of the safeguarding of the  intangible cultural heritage in Croatia

- Participants’ presentations on the experience with the national lists, applications for the UNESCO Lists, implementation of the Convention

- Discussion about the issues on the safeguarding of the ICH (ways of transmission of the knowledge, etc.), role of NGOs and the experts, categorisation of the ICH
