Media briefing on UNESCO and the UN Reform Process. Durrës, Albania 9-10 March 2009
The UNESCO Office in Venice - UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe (BRESCE) in collaboration with the UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP in Albania will hold the “Media briefing on UNESCO and the UN Reform Process” on 9-10 March 2009 in Durrës, Albania.
The main objective of this encounter with South Eastern European (SEE) media is to provide the most updated information on UNESCO programmes, the UN Reform Process, joint programmes with other UN Agencies for implementing the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) as well as the One UN Pilot Programme Albania. Future actions needed in assessing and analysing the media in Albania and other SEE countries will also be discussed.
The media briefing will take place over a couple days from 9-10 March 2009. On the first day, the topics and presentations covered on “UNESCO and the role of Non Resident Agencies (NRA) in the UN Reform Process”: One UN in Albania, Albanian National Commission, UNESCO-BRESCE Actions in SEE, UNESCO Antenna Office in Albania, UNESCO’s approach to media capacity building in SEE, Millennium Development Goals (MDG); MDG Achievement Fund (MDG-F joint projects. The second day will be dedicated to “Media Issues”.
