Romanian and Macedonian Youth at the 2010 Ciak Junior Youth Film Festival
The UNESCO Venice Office was once again the proud partner of the 21st edition of the CIAK JUNIOR Film Festival.
UNESCOVENICE news (Italy) 6/06/2010 : Children and TV broadcasters from Belgium, Croatia, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Italy, the Czech Republic, the People’s Republic of China, Romania, and Slovenia participated in the 2010 edition. After an arduous selection task of the international jury, the 2010 UNESCO-Fellini Medal was awarded to the Romanian movie, “The Lucky Star” which best depicted ideals of UNESCO’s mandate.
Prior to the CIAK Junior Festival, members of the Venice Office and the Gruppo Alcuni selected the winning storyboard submitted by 7 schools from the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia related to the Water Project H2Oooh! The winning storyboard clearly expressed “…the concept of shared responsibility towards water. Water is an essential element of our lives, which we are often aware of only when it lacks.” Four students from the winning school accompanied by their teacher, Mr Ilco Simovski also participated in the numerous CIAK Junior events.
