n respecting the memorandum for cooperation signed by the former Minister of Culture, Mr. Blagoja Stefanovski and the Director-General of the UNESCO, within the framework of the cultural action for Dialogue between the Civilizations promoted by UNESCO, BRESCE elaborated a project supporting the organization of the Struga Poetry Festival 2007.

During the 47th edition of the Struga Poetry Evenings from 23-28 August 2008, Croatian poetess Antonija Novakovic will be awarded the UNESCO International Award bestowed at the Struga Poetry Evenings to the most successful young poet between two Struga poetry events. This was announced to the Director-General of UNESCO, Koichiro Matsuura on the occasion of his visit to Macedonia early this year. The jury selected the poetess’ book of poetry believing that it is exceptional poetry writing of a young author that attracts attention with her values. Novakovic is receiving the award for her book of poetry “It’s Easy for Me to Be Worse,” and the book will be printed within the distinguished editions of the Struga Poetry Evenings.
