Twenty four awarded museum, heritage and conservation projects will be presented at the 12th edition of "The Best in Heritage" conference, World annual survey of awarded museum, heritage and conservation projects, to be organized in partnership with Europa Nostra in Dubrovnik, Croatia, from 19-21 September 2013.

The event serves to identify and promote the best museum, heritage and conservation projects in the world, and brings together museum and heritage professionals, institutions and professionals from a broad range of practice and interest in the field of heritage. The conference will present awarded, new or renewed institutions worldwide and a great number of exceptional projects hardly known to the international professional public. The conference will offer a unique chance to see, hear, and meet representatives of professional excellence and gain insights into innovative contemporary practice.

A new addition to this year’s ‘The Best in Heritage’ conference is the Global Heritage Forum. The aim of this initiative is to bring together senior representatives of European and international heritage organizations to discuss a global agenda for heritage. This top level but informal meeting, in which a global strategy and an action plan for cultural and natural heritage will be outlined, is a joint-venture between Europa Nostra and the International National Trusts Organisation.

Twenty-four prize-winning museum, heritage and conservation projects will be shown at ‘The Best in Heritage’ 2013 conference. The programme, which comprises some of the most innovative, professionally advanced and inspiring projects nationally or internationally recognized in 2012 includes the presentation of six European Union Prizes for Cultural Heritage/Europa Nostra Awards. Laureates from China, Egypt, Greece, Germany, Portugal and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland have confirmed their participation.
