Towards Innovative Partnerships for World Heritage
The Workshop on Towards Innovative Partnerships for World Heritage Venice, 11-12 November 2002 is hosted by the UNESCO Venice Office and the City of Venice, organised by Earth 3000 and UNESCO with the support of the Fondazione CARIVE.
Organised within the frame of WORLD HERITAGE 2002: Shared Legacy, Common responsibility will consider innovative, long-term, and sustainable Civil Society and Private Sector partnership approaches relevant to UNESCO’s World Heritage Partnerships Initiative (WHPI), endorsed by the World Heritage Committee – the governing body of UNESCO member states - in June 2002.
The Workshop will bring together a small, experienced group of leaders and practitioners. It is designed to contribute directly to the formulation of a Master Plan for the World Heritage Partnerships Initiative, and to its networking with likeminded parties. The proposed Master Plan, to be published as a result of this workshop, will provide the outline for a medium to long-term action programme and timetable of implementation for the World Heritage Partnerships Initiative.
A discussion paper will be circulated to participants ahead of the Workshop.
