United Nations Educational, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) hereby invite qualified companies capable to provide the restoration works to submit sealed tenders for:

The subject of the activity is to carry out restoration of the wall paintings and interior of the Hadum Mosque in Djakovica / Djakova in order to ensure proper conditions for long term preservation of the monument. All foreseen works are directly related to the further protection of the valuable monument as specified in the agreement between the donor and UNESCO.

The subject of the tender procedure is the restoration of the wall paintings of the Hadum Mosque in Djakovica. The assignment will include the following restoration works:
1. Complete restoration of the wall paintings of the Hadum Mosque in Djakovica / Djakova
2. Restoration of the paintings in the portico of the mosque
3. Preparation of the documentation related to the restoration works executed including, drawings and photographic documentation on restoration process carried out.
4. The entire works are going to be carried out in accordance to the recommendations and under scientific supervision of UNESCO and UNESCO’s Experts Committee for safeguard and rehabilitation of cultural Heritage in Kosovo

The above mentioned activities are to be carried out within the general framework of the project 523 KOS 4000 ,"Safeguard of Cultural Heritage in Kosovo” ( financed by the funds provided by the United States of America ) that is dedicated to the safeguard and rehabilitation of the selected cultural heritage sites and monuments in Kosovo.

The purpose of this notice is to provide general information on the requirements for the procurement process and to inform interested suppliers how to obtain a copy of the Solicitation Documents.

The sealed tenders must be delivered to the UNESCO Venice Office – BRESCE, 4930 Castello - Palazzo Zorzi, 30122 Venice on or before 14 June 2007 at 16.00 hours CET , in strict compliance with the instructions as stipulated in the Solicitation Documents.

Interested companies who wish to participate in the OIC must request for a complete set of Solicitation Documents, available free of charge, from 23 May 2007 at the address shown below.

UNESCO reserves the right to amend the tender documents at any time during the solicitation process. Any amendments or clarifications will be communicated directly to all Bidders who have requested for a complete set of solicitation documents and officially confirmed their intention to submit a sealed tender. No remuneration will be made to companies for preparation and submission of their tenders.
