UNESCO Venice Office welcomes new colleagues in Albania and Montenegro
In Podgorica, Montenegro, a Project Office is opening to support the implementation of the UN Joint Programme on “Improving business environment through green jobs and institution building”.
The Office in Montenegro will be led by Ana Katnic, who will start her post as UNESCO National Professional Officer for Montenegro in October. The joint programme will focus its efforts on Durmitor National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve, building upon the UN’s previous activities in the region. In addition to supporting the implementation of UNESCO’s activities in the Joint Programme, Ana Katnic will also assist the Venice Office in the rollout of the One UN Montenegro Programme.
Desantila Qallimi, UNESCO Programme Assistant, joined our Project Office in Tirana (Albania). Created to further support UNESCO’s involvement in the One UN Reform processes, her position will also offer some support to the implementation of our Joint Programme in Albania on "Culture and Heritage for Social and Economic Development”, which is funded through the Spanish MDG Achievement Fund.
