SEE Network in Astronomy

The Sub-Regional European Astronomical Committee (SREAC) is established within the framework of the UNESCO "Enhancing astronomical research and observation in South-East Europe and Ukraine" project with as a main objective to elaborate and implement a sub-regional strategy for the development of astronomy in South East Europe and Ukraine - More


UNESCO Venice has developed close partnerships over the years and has been most active in the recent past. Our partners and networks are diverse ranging from UN agencies, Permanent Delegations; Member States Ministries; Partners within Memorandum of Understandings (Italian CNR, Veneto region, Central European Initiative), Project Development for the calls of the EU Framework Programme (FP7) and interreg SEE; Head of State Summits, Ministerial Conferences; and Scientific networks.

Cooperation with National Commissions and UNESCO bodies

Consultation and involvement of National Commissions (NCs) for UNESCO in the programme implementation and the UN Reform process in the region.
Consultation with UNESCO Chairs, Institutes, Clubs.

Country activity reports in relation to Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey are under production.
