Basic Issues in Evolution. A Darwin 200 Symposium & Associated Events

This year marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin and the 150th anniversary of the publication of The Origin of Species.

As part of the commemoration of Darwin's work, UNESCO is sponsoring Darwin 200 through a series of symposia with the International Union of Biological Sciences. The aim of Darwin 200 will be to celebrate the impact of Darwin’s ideas on current scientific knowledge with a series of scientific symposia and satellite meetings over 5 continents.

In Europe, under the Auspices of UNESCO, sponsored by the Istituto Veneto di Scienze Lettere ed Arti, International Union of Biological Sciences (IUBS), International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB).
