Early childhood programme for the nomadic Loipi of northern Kenya

With a little imagination and planning, early childhood programmes can benefit all children. Here, youngsters in a poor and remote pastoral community in northern Kenya are ensured of a nutritious meal each day, a health check, and interaction with caring adults in a secure environment. (Video commissioned by the Education for All Global Monitoring Report, based on a project supported by the Christian Children’s Fund and the Bernard van Leer Foundation).

Moscow kindergartens set a good example

In November 2007, UNESCO and the City of Moscow signed a partnership agreement for a pilot project to promote early childhood care and education. The scenes that follow show best practice from some of the resource centres for children aged 0 to 6, together with their parents and specially-trained staff.
