Description
The Committee on the Rights of the Child has developed in 2005, which elaborated on young children’s rights stipulated within the framework of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). To promote evidence-based reporting to the United Nations on the status of the implementation of the CRC, a tool to define early childhood rights indicators has been developed through multi-agency cooperation. The objectives of the Special Event are:

  • To introduce the tool for early childhood rights indicators;
  • To stimulate a discussion on the effectiveness of this tool, the principles underneath it and how it can improve the state of ECCE across the globe; and
  • To introduce the E-version of this tool, which will facilitate the countries’ efforts in preparing a comprehensive and evidence-based report to UN-CRC on the status of CRC in their jurisdiction.
