General guidelines

Working with the Form

  • The Periodic Report Form and the Sources and Statistics Annex are interactive PDF documents. We recommend that you download a new version of Adobe PDF application to be able to use the Forms in optimal conditions. Please follow the link http://get.adobe.com/reader/ to download Adobe PDF for free.
  • You can fill in the Forms both online and offline, after having downloaded them to your computer. It is highly recommended to use a PC while filling in the forms.
  • The highlighted question marks that appear in the forms (?) are links to the tips on this page. The highlighted (S) are links to potential sources for the Sources and Statistics Annex.
  • While you can fill in the Forms online, we recommend that you save them on your computer and work with that downloaded copy to avoid losing any content.
  • When working with the Forms, use the ‘Save’ button situated at the top of each page or save through the File menu (File → Save As).

General indications

  • Please do not exceed 20 pages / 10,000 words in the main body of the report, i. e. when filling in the Periodic Report Form. You will be reminded about the remaining number of words at the end of each section of the Form. Please note that this number does not include the short fields such as titles, names of people or organizations, contact details, etc.
  • Declarative statements shall be supported by facts and explanations. Information and analysis are to be derived from a variety of sources and be illustrated with examples. Long historical accounts are to be avoided, and links may be added directly in the text.

Languages

  • The Report is to be prepared in English or French, the working languages of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
  • Parties are encouraged to submit, to the extent possible, their reports in both working languages of the Committee.
  • Parties that are in a position to do so are invited to also submit their reports in other languages (e.g., national languages) for purposes of information sharing.

Support

Parties are invited to contact the Secretariat for any clarification or information. The Secretariat would also welcome feedback which will be used in the development of the supporting tools and also contribute to future reporting cycles.
 

Submitting the Forms

Once completed, you can submit the Forms electronically when you are online, by pressing the ‘Send’ button, or via email to reports2005c(at)unesco.org, as an attachment. As an alternative, you can upload the forms on this website: www.unesco.org/tools/filedepot/ (use reports2005c@unesco.org email in “Recepient” field).

A printed copy(ies) of the Periodic Report Form, with the original signature of the designated official must be sent to the Secretariat of the 2005 Convention:

Deadline for submitting the reports

The deadline for receipt of the reports is 30 April 2014.
