[Translate to espanol:] This magnificent bronze statue of a young jockey and a horse was retrieved in pieces from the shipwreck off Cape Artemision in Euboea. This masterpiece dating from about 140 BC was reassembled in the course of its restoration. The young jockey of the galloping horse will have held the reins in his left hand and a whip in his right hand. The contractions and furrows on his face, especially on his forehead, reveal agony and passion.
