Disaster Information Kit for the Caribbean Media

[Disponible en anglais uniquement]

First produced in 1995, with a sixth edition in 2004, the 100-page Disaster Information Kit for the Caribbean Media includes sections on Tropical Weather Systems, Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Volcanoes, Floods, Landslides, Technological and Man-Made Disasters, and Epidemics. Fact sheets for generic types of disasters include suggestions on messages that might be communicated by the media and glossaries of terms.

The Disaster Information Kit is one of several sets of guidance and information materials produced through collaboration between the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) and the UNESCO Office in Kingston.
