  • UNESCO Office in Venice is organizing a public forum in recognition of World Science Day for Peace and Development, on 10 November 2010. The event will focus on “celebrating and promoting science’ particularly amongst the youth and consequently, a number of high school and University Students have been invited to attend the event. The Rector of the University of Venice, a number of science professors from the Universities of Trieste, Udine and researchers from the University of Padua have been invited to make presentations.   • The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) will be organizing a high level meeting entitled “ICTP after 45: Science and Development for a changing world’ from November 8-10. This meeting will be held as a part of this year’s celebrations of World Science day for Peace and Development and will take place in Trieste, Italy. The meeting will focus on the need to promote national and international solidarity for a shared vision of science and will also explore ICTP's scientific programmes which through international cooperation, contribute to the rapprochement of peoples and cultures.

On Wednesday 10 November 2010 to mark the celebration of World Science Day for Peace and Development and the 25th anniversary of Dirac Medal lecture, Professor E.C.G. Sudarshan will be giving the 2010 Dirac Medal lecture at ICTP in Italy. Professor E.C.G. Sudarshan, is a prominent physicist, author, and professor at The University of Texas at Austin.
