Ecological Sciences Programme
The first law of Ecology is that everything is related to everything else. Our environment, the world in which we live in, and work, is a mirror of our education and culture.
The EES division at UCO undertook an active and crucial part in the support offered to Member States from the Arab Region in the development of new Biosphere Reserves. This was within the framework of the UNESCO-MAB multidisciplinary and the Ecological Sciences programme. It encouraged its representation and participation in both the regional network of BRs the ArabMAB and the World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR).
In this area, the division underlines the prestige attached to having a site inscribed on the UNESCO World Natural Heritage List. It also offers the Organization’s assistance to Member States to attain this end.
