United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development
UNESCO is currently preparing the follow-up to the United Nations Decade on Education for Sustainable Development (DESD) and ways forward in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). In this context, UNESCO organizes the 6th Meeting of the UNESCO Reference Group for the DESD to solicit expert input into a global programme framework for ESD after 2014.
In addition, a part of the meeting will be dedicated to a discussion of climate change education in connection with the Expert Consultation on Guidelines on Climate Change Education also taking place at the same time. This segment will be conducted jointly with an expert group that is advising UNESCO on the drafting of guidelines for enhancing climate responses through education.
