Globalization, Diversity and Social Cohesion in Educational Settings
The meeting is the second event of the series launched in cooperation with OSCE and Council of Europe with the aim of promoting the Guidelines for Educators on Countering Intolerance and Discrimination against Muslims, and of raising awareness on the role of education to counter intolerance and discrimination against Muslims through education.
In 2011, OSCE/ODIHR, the Council of Europe and UNESCO published the "Guidelines for Educators on Countering Intolerance against Muslims: Addressing Islamophobia through Education" as part of the efforts in promoting the intercultural and interfaith dialogue and combating discrimination on the ground of religion. This meeting seeks to provide a forum for educational authorities to discuss how the Guidelines can be used to promote appreciation of diversity and social cohesion in the era of globalization.
