Seminar on the use of satellite image for the Iullemeden basin water resources study

A workshop on the use of satellite image in Iullemeden basin water resources survey has been organized at Niamey from 23 to 25 September 2004, In the framework of Iullemeden Aquifer System Project (IAS). This activity is a part of the ESA Aquifer project to which participates the OSS as a coordinator. It deals with the users consultation on imagery satellite application in water resources studies. It is aiming the establishment of a partnership on one hand between the specialized European country organisms in satellite image production and use, on the other side organisms of production and use of this technology in South countries.

Have attended this workshop representatives of the three countries sharing the basin (Mali, Niger and Nigeria), as well as Aghrymet and IAS Project regional Coordinator. The project objectives are essentially to get users informed on the Aquifer project content and to select zones types for the application of imagery satellite to Iullemeden basin water resources study.
