UN-OOSA
UNESCO enjoys close cooperation with the UN Office for Outer Space
Affairs (UN-OOSA)
in Vienna, Austria. UN-OOSA is the Secretariat of the Committee on
the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space Affairs (COPUOS)
and of the UN
Inter-Agency Meeting on Outer Space Activities, of which UNESCO
is a Permanent Observer and a member respectively. UNESCO and UN-OOSA
will work closely for the International Year of Astronomy (2009) |

SEOC
of IAF
UNESCO is a member of the Space Educational and Outreach Committee
(SEOC) of International Astronautical Federation (IAF).
The Committee's scope is varied from space education through formal
and informal structure, novel and innovative teaching methdologies,
student experiments and outreach process. These include specific student
activities and supervised youth experiments, use of communication
and earth observation satellites; manned and unmanned spacecraft,
and ground-based laboratories, and activities intended to raise public
awareness of the benefits of space activities |

International
Space University
The International Space University provides graduate-level training
to the future leaders of the emerging global space community at its
Central Campus in Strasbourg, France, and at locations around the
world. Since its founding in 1987, ISU has graduated more than 2500
students from 96 countries. Together with hundreds of ISU faculty
and lecturers from around the world, ISU alumni comprise an extremely
effective network of space professionals. |

Asia-Pacific
Regional Space Agency Forum (APRSAF)
APRSAF was established in 1993 in response to the declaration adopted
by the Asia-Pacific International Space Year Conference (APIC) in
1992, to enhance the development of each country's space program and
to exchange views toward future cooperation in space activities in
the Asia-Pacific region. APRSAF has been holding annual meetings initiated
jointly by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and
Technology, Japan (MEXT), Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)
and co-host organizations to discuss current space related issues
and possible cooperation among countries mainly from the Asia-Pacific
region. |

Space
Conference of the Americas
Space Conference of the Americas is a Pro-Tempore Secretariat set
up in a determined country for a period of 3 years whose main objectives
include the development of the space law, distance learning and knowledge
access, space health and epidemiology, prevention of natural disasters
as well as environment and cultural heritage protection. |

The Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS)
is an international coordinating mechanism charged with coordinating
international civil spaceborne missions designed to observe and
study planet Earth. UNESCO is particularly involved with CEOS Working
Group on Education, Training, and Capacity Building (WGEdu) whose
goal is to facilitate activities that enhance international education
and training in Earth Observation (EO) techniques, data analysis,
interpretation and applications.
