ETHIOPIA

The Ethiopian Science and Technology Commission (ESTC) will mark the WSDPD with the following activities :

  • A symposium of about 150 scholars from universities, R&D centers, government agencies, civil societies, schools , NGOs etc. It will be opened by the by the Commissioner of ESTC and the UNESCO Head in Addis Ababa and other national authorities.

  • A Poetry contest among secondary school students for an award on the theme "Science for peace and development".

  • Exhibition on S&T activities of the Commission and locally innovated technologies.

  • Special media coverage on TV, Radio and the press (Ethiopian Herald), special brochure.

  • Special badges, hats, posters with UNESCO and ESTC logos are prepared for the event.

  • Proceedings of the symposium are published at the end and will be distributed to all appropriate agencies
