Regional Experience-sharing Workshop for the Asia & Pacific LIFE Countries on the Findings of the Capacity-building for EFA Project in Bangladesh, Dhaka, 13-14 August 2008
UNESCO Dhaka and the UNESCO Regional Bureau in Bangkok will be holding a regional workshop in Dhaka from 13-14 August to share the findings of the evaluation of the LIFE projects that Bangladesh and Pakistan have been implementing since 2006 within the framework of UNESCO's extra-budgetary funded "Capacity-building for EFA Programme". In this workshop, participants from Bangladesh, Pakistan and other LIFE countries from the region will analyse the achievements made, challenges faced, lessons learnt and opinions expressed by the beneficiaries, both from government departments and NGOs. Furthermore conclusions will be drawn to plan and implement further activities to strengthen national capacities for policy improvement and the delivery of good quality literacy and NFE programmes. The participants will also discuss the regional and global perspective of literacy and NFE projects within the CapEFA Programme and how UNESCO's LIFE initiative can best be used to boost literacy efforts in a sustainable way in the LIFE countries.
