IAHS and IAH Joint International Convention, “Water: a vital resource under stress – How science can help”
The convention will include a Joint Symposium on “Ecohydrology of surface and groundwater dependent ecosystems: Concepts, methods and recent developments” sponsored by ICSW, ICCE, ICWQ, ICCLAS, IAH.
The Fourth International Conference on Interdisciplinary Social Sciences
Topics include “Economics and Management” including how to bring social sciences into water management and “Natural, Environmental and Health Sciences”.
5th World Water Forum, “Bridging Divides for Water”
Relevant topics include Global changes & risk management; Advancing human development and the MDGs; Managing and protecting water resources and their supply systems to meet human & environmental needs; Governance & management; Finance Education, knowledge & capacity development.
International Conference on Implementing Environmental Water Allocations, “Making it Happen”
The theme of the conference is to promote the sustainable use of rivers, wetlands, estuaries and groundwater. Objectives are to identifying and critiquing global trends in the implementation of environmental water allocations and to share knowledge and skills.
Joint International Conference on Ownership and Appropriation
Related topics include “Blood and water: ownership, kinship and conflict” and “Owning water: elusive forms and alternate appropriations.”

The Programme is co-convening a seminar on Environmental Flows and Human Well-Being."

The Programme is co-hosting a workshop on Ecohydrology and sustainability in Floodplain Ecosystems."
International Conference: Ecohydrological Processes and Sustainable Floodplain Management, “Opportunities and Concepts for Water Hazard Mitigation, and Ecological and Socioeconomic Sustainability”
Conference sessions were organized around regional perspectives (Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, North and South America). Their aim was to present a range of contrasting philosophies and associated practical approaches appropriate for different parts of the world in relation to the Millennium Development Goals. A special session to close IHP-VI Ecohydrology Programme took place.
30th Congress of the International Association of Theoretical and Applied Limnology, “Redefining Theoretical and Applied Limnology for the 21st Century”
Congress topics included session on “Ecohydrology as a Tool for Integrated Watershed Management.”
International Symposium on Ecohydrology, “Experiences and Best Practices of Ecohydrological Principles for Good Water Governance”
The following topics in ecohydrology were discussed at the symposium: “Ecohydrology, spatial planning, land cover and land use changes” and “Climate variabilities and ecohydrology.”
2nd Asia Pacific Training Workshop on Ecohydrology, “Integrating Ecohydrology and Phytotechnology into Workplans of Government, Private, and Multinational Companies
This second ecohydrology training workshop was organized for scientists, bureaucrats, members from private and multinational companies and academic communities from various parts of the Asia Pacific Region.
