UNESCO IHP Hydrology for the Environment, Life, and Policy (HELP)

Joint initiative of UNESCO and WMO, aiming to create a new approach to integrated catchment management with an interest in ecohydrological methodologies. Three ecohydrology demonstration project sites are part of the HELP network.

UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Programme (MAB)

MAB targets the ecological, social and economic dimensions of biodiversity loss and the reduction of this loss. It uses its World Network of Biosphere Reserves as vehicles for knowledge-sharing, research and monitoring, education and training, and participatory decision-making.

European Regional Centre for Ecohydrology (ERCE)

ERCE is one of 12 water-related centres under the auspices of UNESCO. Centre promotes integrative multidisciplinary ecohydrological research at a catchment scale for sustainable management, protection and restoration of aquatic resources.

GEMS/Water Programme

The United Nations GEMS/Water Programme provides scientifically-sound data and information on the state and trends of global inland water quality required as a basis for the sustainable management of the world's freshwater to support global environmental assessments and decision- making processes.

DIVERSITAS freshwaterBIODIVERSITY Cross-cutting Network

DIVERSITAS, the International Programme on Biodiversity Science, and the UNESCO Ecohydrology Programme are working together to advance scientific knowledge on ecohydrology and freshwater biodiversity, and to disseminate this knowledge to policy makers and projects' managers working on freshwater issues.
