Summary:
The Symposium will bring together policy makers, planners, researchers, scientists, administrators, engineers and NGOs. On this common platform, they will be able to share and discuss their experiences, technological advancement and constraints in implementation, as well as other issues related to water resources development and management. The deliberations of the symposium aim to recommend a policy framework for improved water development and management.
The following themes are proposed for discussion in the symposium:
• water resources system and planning
• drought and flood management
• surface and groundwater development and management
• irrigation water management and command area development
• participatory irrigation water management
• hydropower development and management
• environmental and socio-economic impact assessment.
