From 2005-06-07 to 2005-06-10
Venue: Columbus, Ohio, United States
Summary:
This series will include two workshops: ‘Understanding the Geomorphology and Ecology of Stream Systems’ and ‘Measuring and Applying Factors that Influence Stream Health’. The first will focus on how channel dimensions are related to watershed processes; influences of habitat and land use on the functional ecology of biotic communities; and commonly used stream classification systems and their use/misuse. The second workshop will focus on taking measurements on a wadeable stream and then using these measurements to address real-world issues associated with this stream. Visits will be made to a variety of natural and constructed channel systems to view the influences of scale, land use, soil and geology, stream type, and floodplain vegetation.
