The conference will begin with the exploration of the history and lessons learned in dam building, including tailings. It proceeds to address current innovations in dam design and concludes with the challenges of future dam building and rehabilitation.
Several workshops associated with the conference will include:
• instrumentation and performance monitoring of dams
• guidelines for extreme flood analysis and their applications
• tailings dam closure and reclamation
• emergency preparedness for dam owners - a practical approach based on real emergencies.
