From 2006-04-05 to 2006-04-06
Venue: Berlin, Germany
Summary:
The free passage of water bodies is a vital precondition for maintaining the variety of fish species and their biological communities, which is why the European Union Water Frame Directive emphasizes that free passage is a hydromorphological quality component of flowing water bodies.
During the 3-day symposium, renowned lecturers will provide an overview of the actual international standard of knowledge and state-of-the-art with regard to aspects of the free passage of water bodies for the aquatic fauna. Presentations will offer practical ideas for the planning, design and operation of functioning fish passages as well as effective installations for the protection of fish and downstream fish passages.
