Summary:
The emergence of Ecological Economics field of activity signals the need for economic, social and natural science analyses to be brought together in new perspectives, responding to the concerns for ecological, social, economic and political dimensions of sustainability. ISEE 2002 will include the following issues:
- the science, management and governance of ecological resources
- North-South relations such as climate change, biodiversity heritage, technology transfer and capacity building, ecologically unequal exchange
- The trends of “globalisation”
- Emerging paradigms and methods of analysis for addressing the scientific and political challenges of sustainability at local, national and international scales.
