From 2002-10-21 to 2002-10-25
Venue: Hotel 13 de Julio, Mar del Plata, Argentina
Summary:
The interaction between the individuals and their environment is an aspect of outmost importance for human development; both wealth, with its excessive consumption and extreme poverty, with its lack of adequate means, contribute to environmental damage. Water is undoubtedly one of the resources most deeply affected in this process and its availability in terms of good quality and adequate quantity constitutes a major indicator of human development. Groundwaters are the exclusive source for supply in many regions of the world, or at least they convey the best alternative for their different uses.
The IAH-ALHSUD Congress will approach the hydrogeology of a variety of environments, with particular emphasis on large plains, the interaction of groundwater with urban and rural systems as well as with the natural ecosystems, the development of human resources and the sustainable management of the groundwater resources.
