Summary:
The use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in the water sector continues to grow exponentially, making it an increasingly essential tool in water resources planning and management. The data can be mined to find out how much water is available and who the constituents are, including: who has access to it, who owns it, what it costs, how it got there, and how people and the environment are interacting with it.
Some of the topics to be included in this conference will be:
• National Hydrology (NHD) Dataset
• land use classification
• remote sensing
• policy
• LIDAR and IFSAR
• FEMA map modernization
• climate and weather data integration
• publication on the web
• temporal mapping
• ArcHydro
• groundwater
• watershed management plans
• droughts
• waterways and ports.
