From 2001-12-03 to 2001-12-07
Venue: Anna University, Chennai, India
Summary:
This workshop is a contribution to UNESCO
International Hydrological Programme (IHP) Phase V. It
is implemented within the framework of Project 3-
Groundwater Resources at Risk. The workshop will
provide a forum for the presentation of methodologies
and encourage exchange of ideas in relation to
groundwater management.
The workshop will consist of two parts. In the first
part, invited experts will deliver special lectures
related to themes 1 to 5 given below.
In the second part, i.e., theme 6 of the programme,
all the participants will have the opportunity to
present case studies (if any) carried out by them on
hydrogeological modelling. They will also have the
opportunity to get the necessary guidance and
suggestions form the experts.
1. Modelling as a tool for groundwater management:
Data requirement, Conceptualisation of system
2. Regional Groundwater modelling
3. Modelling of hard rock aquifer system
4. Solute transport modelling
- Modelling advection-dispersion process,
- Modelling hydrocarbon contamination,
- Modelling for protection from contaminant sites.
5. Modelling mixing of different density waters
6. Case studies:
- Participants' presentations on modelling in hydrogeology
