Summary:
This workshop will be an opportunity to bring together scientists, experts, managers and decision makers as well as governmental and non-governmental organizations in order to discuss and present their practices and experiences in different aspects of flash flood management in urban areas with an emphasis on arid and semi-arid regions.
The topics to be discussed during this workshop are as follows:
• flood management and information technology
• floods in wadi and arid and semi-arid areas
• flush flood modelling methods and techniques
• urban flooding and risk management
• socio-economic and human health impacts of flash floods
• flush flood forecasting techniques
• flood management and mitigation options
• case studies.
