Summary:
The main objective of this conference is to share experience on how to balance lake protection, economic development and agricultural use of the watershed in sensitive lake and wetland regions in China and worldwide. The conference will focus on the following aspects:
• policy and legislation in lake and wetland management
• impact of agriculture and other economic activities on the environment
• best practice examples and visions from sustainable agriculture and other
• economic activities in lake regions
• challenges to reach the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
